What a wonderful way to spend the last day of 2020 – sketching sketching sketching. Artmakessense, on Instagram, planned and coordinated 14 hours of NYE sketching via Zoom. Figure drawing, portrait sketching and a couple of teaching sessions. They hosted some of the events and the rest had other hosts. The portrait event was hosted by Sketchappeal, also found on Instagram, and I went into it knowing my trusty Zebra brush pen was going to take the day off. I was going to splash paint and make a messy book. The three prompts used were to rotate using non-dominant hand, continuous line or blind contour drawing and then add color. The technique to use was announced ahead of time. I ended up using mostly my wrong hand which had never held a paint brush but knew it could draw with Zebra. Ha! It is kinda different drawing with acrylic markers. The host picked the people to model – the flashy dressers.
