Archives for the month of: October, 2012

It was part of my Emergency Supply, Sandy was going berserker outside but I ate it in a non-emergency manner because things were calm-ish inside and the freezer was still working. The TV volume was turned up to drown out the brouhaha beyond the window and I fell sound asleep in The Recliner (it is used for multiple things, not just as a studio annex) while watching Diagnosis Murder. Later in the morning after waking in bed, looking outside, I saw the wind was either nonexistent or gusting and the damage was minimal. Major relief. Ken wrote in an e-mail that the Wednesday figure drawing class at Battery Park City would, instead, be a swimming lesson.

The news has been showing all the tragedy and destruction that Sandy has left behind. Deaths, floods, fires. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have been impacted by this terrible storm. I am grateful that my friends are all OK.

iPat=better distraction than 007 or library book. Keeping her plugged in as long as there is a reason to. I’m ok but just uber (!) twitchy. Everybody stay safe.

It started because I thought that if we ALL made faces at her she would change her mind about visiting. It might not hurt to try.

TV guy said: “We are on the right side of the storm”. That’s not a good thing. Maybe if everybody yells at it we can slip over to the Wrong Side.

I have my Storm Cheerios. Tomorrow after work I’ll stop and pick up the Emergency Ice Cream.

Just look! I was obviously traumatized. Thank goodness for the restorative properties of the World’s Most Delish Veggie Burger. AND sweet potato fries.

The brisk walk down Eighth Avenue afterwards with my pal Benedicte helped stabilize my fragile mental state. No trauma for her. Nope. She was in Seventh Heaven all day.

She told me she “landed on the outstretched finger of Portlandia…”. Truth be told she actually ended up somewhere a bit problematic and less dignified.

But for right now here are some tags – front and back – I made in anticipation of a Road Trip (yay!) to Philly that took place yesterday. Did some Recliner Art. Yep, I actually carved the stamps while in The Recliner.

Then I made another set of tags with Recliner Digital Art. This is the front and back.

Benedicte and I met up with a Never-Met-Before-Internet-Friend of mine. Living on the edge. That’s us.
