One morning, on my way to Walk The Mall, there was an unplanned detour. Seems I picked up an annoying nail somewhere.

I drive home on local streets after work. On Friday, while I was stopped at the light, I noticed the view from the parking lot behind a corner pancake place. Instead of continuing on my merry way I turned the corner, entered the lot and maneuvered my car until I was satisfied with the view and suspiciously loitered for awhile.

Two blocks away a decrepit driveway is getting a makeover. This miniature mixer of something was across the street tethered to a dump truck which left before I could get to it. Oh well.

Somehow I had leftover energy after work and decided to drive around the backs of the buildings along the main road in “town” and see what I could see. Things turned out to be ramshackle and interesting. I found this view just to the left of the back door of a Unisex Salon.

Things just catch the eye. Maybe that also takes practice – noticing and looking.

It’s funny how these things happen. This is a Very Boring place. Very. On this day though, after I parked, I noticed the curved rooftops. And they were interesting. Strange how this happens.

I spotted this across the street from the big Stop & Shop where there just happened to be a convenient parking spot from which to sit and sketch..
