I think these five old guys belong to the Panera Round Table Club.

Shirley said “so long” and I went into another gallery and copied another painting. I was going to a Monotype Party at 6:00 so I had some time to kill before catching a Fifth Avenue downtown bus. What better way than sketching?

After lunch Shirley and I crossed the street and entered The Met Breuer. Our destination was the exhibition “Marsden Hartley’s Maine” which ran the gamut from loads of landscapes to many portraits – friends, fishermen and random beach people. I loved all the figurative paintings and some of the landscapes I really liked, but not all. I did find things to copy though and I got a lot of attention while I was doing it.

I had some time before I was to meet Shirley at the coffee shop so I took the bus up to The Met and sat down to copy another figure from this beautiful mural by Pelez. The figures are life-size and astounding. I was able to finish just in time for a quick walk and an on-time entrance in the coffee shop on Madison and 76th.

“They” were telling me that a blizzard was coming the next day so that made me restless to get out of the house. I ended up in Panera with a lemonade and iPat.

For the last sketching session at the Meetup’s 10th Anniversary I returned to the table where I had left my two items – the Pantalooney Sisters – and sat down. Jesse instructed everyone to draw another sketcher. I had already drawn a number of people and the sisters were so excited to be Models in the Big City I could not, in good conscience, ignore them.

On Saturday I went to the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Central Park Sketching and Art Meetup Group. We were meeting in a place on W36th Street, the Manhattan Ballroom, and everyone was to bring an item to include in still life setups. There were many tables scattered throughout the space surrounded by chairs. I placed my items on the table with Shirley’s and Janette’s and then wandered around. I decided to sketch at another table for the first round.

Jesse called “time” after about 45 minutes, we looked at everybody’s sketches and then moved to other tables. I settled here next.

For the last round of sketching I went back to my items. Stay tuned for the Party Girls.
