It worked. The paper was simple Canson drawing paper and totally wrong and it buckled and complained but eventually settled down. I was restless the day I decided to do this. I was curious to see what would happen when the gouache hit the Parallel pen’s watersoluble ink.

They put in some Fast Lane Kiosks in Panera. They are situated in the most perfect spot for a sketcher sitting at the most perfect little table at one of the busiest times of the day.

I found the model uninteresting. “Flat” was the description used by the artist whose bench I was sharing.

Marilyn Rose taught an Urban Sketching workshop which I signed up for again. It was fun last year, I expected it to be fun again and I was not disappointed. I was surprised to see Shirley and found out I wasn’t the only repeater – there were many Sketchers from last year. We were each given a sketchbook and a pen, courtesy of the Bryant Park Art Cart, watched Marilyn give a quick lesson/demonstration and were sent out to sketch for 45 minutes in the area in front of the library. Hmm. An awkward first sketch.
