There was a Very Long line at work that day and I was at the back of it. I had a nice view of zillions of co-workers until the Safety Director came along and had everyone hug the wall and stop blocking things. All of a sudden the number of people I could see was reduced drastically. Annual flu shots, etc. whoopee!

Last week Shirley, Benedicte and I spent some time in the New York Historical Society to see an exhibition of extraordinary paintings from World War I. I had time to copy only a snippet of one that obviously caught my eye – a very crowded subway scene.

Afterwards the three of us walked in the rain down to the Library of Performing Arts, stopping for lunch on the way.
