I have loads of new drawings from Chicago but they must wait until I’m home so I can scan them. But, never fear, I have loads of “old” sketches waiting in the wings.

This is a very large and heavy book filled with full-page prints, some in color, but the majority are black and white. I bought this book long before even the thought of being an artist occurred to me. I have always been drawn to prints and have accumulated a large number of books containing them and it was difficult deciding which cover to draw for this topic.

Everyday in May 2017.
Sketched from direct observation.

I started the portrait of Donna upside down but only partially.  At some point I turned the photo and sketch right side up.  I don’t remember how much of her or why – a mystery. I guess the tangent I was on has ended.  Everyone else stayed upright.

Two more upside down drawn portraits. I can’t help it. I go off on tangents.

This one was also drawn upside down while referring to the upside down reference photo. She was asking to be played with.

Strange cravings manifest when exhaustion strikes. I unexpectedly NEEDED a new self-portrait. Apparently the 50-ish previous ones were not enough.

iPat thought the title of the drawing should have been “Portrait of Pencil Caressing iPat”. I almost barfed.
