I’m not going to hide anything – here are the sketches I did on Sunday at the Museum of the City of New York. I added a touch here and there and in the interest of full disclosure I covered up most of the evidence of the sorry tree that I drew. It is 100% better under some gesso.
I found a photograph of some people doing yoga so I happily adopted them as my subject matter.
The last drawing that I did (I chatted the rest of the time with Shirley and Susan) was of a fellow sketcher and then Scott.
Here is a picture that one of the participants, Mia, took of me completely hogging and blocking the photograph of the yoga people. You can see poor Scott (Rube) trying to get a glimpse of them so he can do his own drawing. Hmm. What is that expression on his face? Perhaps “Would you PLEASE get the f.. out of the way.”
I guess it really doesn’t matter, east or west, he sure looks happy!
He really believes this is a “Tractor”! I guess the explanation might be that he is from the West Village and we were in the East Village. I can think of no other reason for his confusion.
