I disliked how this monotype looked – too much white space – I contemplated tossing it in the trash but, after thinking about it and having so much fun adding color to previous pale ghost prints I decided to see how Neocolor II crayons and Inktense pencils would work on an original print. They worked, I enjoyed the process and now I have a keeper.
Referring to a sketch, that had been drawn from life in my gridded notebook and then colored using my iPad one day while on the High Line with the NYC Urban Sketchers, I drew/painted the image on the copper plate that was used in the monotype process. Oil based printing ink, Arches printmaking paper, etching press. Caran d’Ache Neocolor II, Inktense pencils.
