It seems to take me about an hour to do one of these monotypes at the usual evening monotype party. This day, due to the large press usage, it took longer to finish the process. Later in the afternoon they uncovered the other press and had both working at the same time.

Referring to a sketch, that had been drawn from life in a tiny gridded notebook one day while in Union Square Park, I drew/painted the image on the copper plate that was used in the monotype process. Oil based printing ink, Arches printmaking paper, etching press.
