It looks like it was a day filled with food but in between I spent a nice couple of hours in MOMA. I was in time for a “Gallery Experience” and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered it wasn’t “just” a talk. The educator was comparing Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” and Matisse’s “Dance” and handed out paper and pencils and gave us five minutes to draw each painting and then compare and contrast blah blah blah. It was such fun copying paintings that never occurred to me to attempt. My Picasso turned out a bit (lot) wonky but my Matisse wasn’t half bad. Unexpected fun with dilated eyes. (No, you’re not seeing them – just pencil scribbles.)
