There was a Quest Lecture on Degas in general and MoMA’s exhibit in particular. This lecturer gave us a lot of new info on the artist.

Chock full of details about his struggles with his deteriorating vision and how it affected his art.

Slides were shown of works in the exhibit.

I tried to see how much I could sketch before the slides were changed.

As soon as the speaker called for questions Shirley and I left. We had a 1:00 appointment on the Lower East Side at Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA) which was established to “…shine a spotlight on Italian masters whose work has been little recognized outside of Italy and to support new scholarship and public dialogue”). There is a long running exhibit of Morandi still life’s and at 1:00 the visiting resident/scholar was giving a comprehensive tour.
