At exactly 12:30 the woman who was giving the gallery talk gathered us all together, shooed away the museum members who didn’t have labels stuck on their chests, started speaking (not shouting) about Degas and finally gave up fighting the lobby noise and took us up to the Sixth Floor exhibition.

She was extremely knowledgable about all phases of the printing process and the artwork.

Monotypes, pastels and oil paintings were all discussed and explained. We left impressed and smarter.

Shirley and I left MOMA and took a Fifth Avenue bus down to 12th Street to see the watercolors in the Salmagundi Club. Afterwards we split up and I walked over to Sixth Avenue to catch an uptown bus to Penn Station.
