I reached the warm comfort of the meeting place, 24 West 57th Street, a few minutes early and, while waiting in the building lobby, noticed the ads for other galleries flashing on some video screens. I made note of the gallery names, floors and shows. When Shirley arrived she confirmed my belief that one of the exhibitions had already closed but we decided that later on we would stop at that and the other floors and see what was what. At that point Benedicte arrived and Teri texted that she would be a bit late so we rode up to The Galerie St. Etienne on the 8th floor. The exhibition was “Paula Modersohn-Becker: Art and Life” and it enthralled us. I think we kinda took over the posh space – scattered around sketching – but everyone was very nice and we actually felt at “home”.

Soon after this we left the 8th floor but not the building. Every floor held amazing surprises.
