The NYC Urban Sketchers met up in Jersey City last Sunday. Raylie arranged the workshop space (Museum of Russian Art) and food and Hugo Costa showed us a zillion sketches and taught everything we would ever need to know about perspective.

Before the workshop began:

Well behaved, patient sketchers all ready to take notes.

Some of us sketched outdoors and others sketched looking out the windows – all of us demonstrating our newfound understanding of perspective. Some of us needed to thaw out. It was very cold standing by the side of the Hudson River, measuring buildings, planning foregrounds and getting befuddled by the sheer number and beauty of the buildings on the Manhattan side. Jersey sure has a spectacular view.
